Ongoing – Class instructors
Spool of Thread is looking for knowledgeable, outgoing instructors to teach sewing classes. We currently offer a range of classes covering novice to advanced sewers. Our classes cover accessories, home decor, garments and quilting projects. Focusing on an interesting project, students go home with an awesome item they have completed while acquiring a some great new skills.
We are interested in working with people who have a range of sewing experience and interests. Class Instructors must have the passion to share their knowledge and the ability to pass on this information. You must have a willingness to develop a class idea, teach others the project and the strong ability to think on your feet. Classes are based on materials and sewing patterns available at the Spool of Thread shop. Please keep this is mind when applying to be a class instructor.
Spool of Thread is currently seeking Class Instructors to teach a number of classes including Sewing Machine 101s, garments and/or quilting.
Our classes are generally scheduled in the evenings and during the days on the weekends. Instructors must have some availability during these times. In the future, we look to expand our class offerings during the week days. A class instructors commitment is flexible, with many of our instructors working between twice a week to once a month.

Part-Time Retail Sales
Spool of Thread is looking for a fun and passionate person to join our retail sales team. We are looking for a friendly, organized, enthusiastic and outgoing person. It is also important to be creative, have high attention to detail and a willingness to learn new things.
Our new team member’s primary responsibility will be to work in the retail shop. This requires you to love chatting with people and being extra friendly! You will be helping customers select their materials and calculate fabric requirements for their projects, using our POS system and helping out customers with our sewing machines in the sewing lounge. Responsibilities may also include data entry, prepping the lounge for sewing classes and sewing store samples.
We are currently looking for retail staff able to work at least 1 week day.
