Ongoing – Class instructors

Spool of Thread Sewing Lounge is a unique retail environment. We carry a wonderful collection of modern fabrics. We teach a variety of sewing classes that both enrich the creative spirit of our customers, and utilize​​ the products we offer.

We are looking for qualified individuals to teach sewing classes at Spool of Thread.

Qualifications:
– Sewing experience with a minimum ability to use commercial sewing patterns, such as Simplicity, Colette, etc. or equivalent quilting experience.
– ​Previous teaching, leadership or public speaking experience
– Instructors must be able to complete the required class curriculum while still maintaining a warm and encouraging environment
– Willingness to be a part of Spool of Thread’s team by supporting our Sales Associates

Client Engagement Specialists:

Who you are:
– prior retail experience
– experienced in sewing and knowledgeable about modern fabric
– proficient in math and estimating, including an ability to work with fractions and multiple units of measure
– passionate about extraordinary customer service
– excited to join the Spool of Thread team
– must be available 1 – 2 weekdays to work day (11am – 6:30pm) or evening (6pm – 9:30pm) shifts, plus at least one weekend (11am – 6pm) shift on Saturday or Sunday.

We offer skills training, performance based raises and a long term position with room for advancement. Starting wage is $13/hour.

Spool of Thread is sewing lounge located in Mount Pleasant. We carry a curated collection of modern and retro-inspired fabrics and independent sewing patterns, as well as teach sewing classes and rent sewing machines by the hour.
