Kona Modern Quilts

When an up and coming fabric designer lives in your backyard, what do you do? Of course, you order her latest collection!

Kona Modern Quilts is the debut collection from a friend of Spool of Thread’s, Cynthia Frenette. We don’t get to see Cynthia as much as we’d like – she lives in the Fraser Valley – but when we do, she always has a new and interesting sewing project on the go.

Her biggest project to date just might be the Kona Modern Quilts collection for Robert Kaufman. The collection features different fabric designs made up of solid colours. The great part, that using solids, you could sew all of Cynthia’s designs, but she’s made it a little easier for us.

Plus, a little known fact, Cynthia has really great design skills. So good, that a few years ago when we were looking for a graphic designer for Spool of Thread, a number of friends suggested we contact Cynthia. We did, and have since hired her to do a bunch of work for us, including the Spool of Thread logo! Congratulations Cynthia on Kona Modern Quilts!
