Grand Opening and June Classes!

We are very excited to announce the Grand Opening of Spool of Thread Sewing Lounge! On Saturday, June 5th, we are hosting our Grand Opening party with treats and giveaways throughout the day!
We are also very excited to release our first month of sewing classes! In June’s schedule, you can sew an entire summer outfit, including Amy Butler’s Barcelona Skirt and Frenchy Bag, and Colette Patterns’ Sencha Blouse! Plus, if you are looking for a great, handmade Father’s Day present, we’ve put together a Men’s Tie class! If you’re new to sewing, take our Sewing Machine 101 class to learn the ins and outs of a sewing machine and make a cute tote bag! Call 604-879-3031 today to reserve your seat in a class!
If you are anxious to see the shop before Saturday, our hours as of June 1st are:
Did you know you can Drop-in + Sew at Spool of Thread whenever there isn’t a class scheduled? Spool of Thread is Vancouver’s sew and craft by the hour space. We have 6 awesome Janome sewing machines, a large industrial cutting table and a number of other tools for you to rent by the hour.

Congratulations on your opening! I live in Victoria but am looking forward to coming over for some workshops (I’ve got my eye on the tie-making class). As a long-time sewer, I sometimes find I need a bit of inspiration to get started on a new project. This kind of community-building will definitely help. Thanks

How cool, I had no idea that this was just down the street from me! I won’t be able to make the grand opening but will definitely make plans to drop in. I’ve been sewing forever and recently started a blog to keep me inspired and motivated, and to help encourage friends to start sewing as well.
This is a fantastic concept, and I can’t wait to come check it out!
