Hiring!
18 May

Henry and I spent the last few weeks dreaming about all sorts of wonderful classes and workshops we would like to offer at Spool of Thread in our sewing lounge. Summer skirts? Check! A new pillow to spruce up the couch? Yes, please!
We’ve heard from you too, that a lot of you are very excited to learn or re-learn how to sew.
In order to provide all of these wonderful classes, we would like to hire a few experienced sewists from the Vancouver community to teach at Spool of Thread.
What we want:
Experienced sewers with a great personality and an understanding of customer service. Spool of Thread plans on offering a full range of sewing classes from beginning to advanced, including apparel, accessories, home decor and quilting. We are open to both teachers interested in teaching core classes on a regular basis and crafters looking to teach a special workshop.
What we need from you:
If you or someone you know might be a good fit for Spool of Thread, please drop off or mail your resume to Spool of Thread, 101-649 E. 15th Ave., Vancouver, BC V5T 2R6. You are also welcome to email us your resume to blog@spoolofthread.com.
Please include your sewing skill level and the type and level of classes you would like to teach.

Do you think you will carry any Liberty prints?
Oh my gosh this is such a great idea! I *just* taught myself to sew last summer and now I’m making monster pillows to sell, but I would love to learn more about sewing and sometimes it is just too hard to go by books. Have you guys thought about maybe doing sewing tutorials for YouTube? That’s where I learned most of my sewing techniques!
PS. is there a concrete opening date?
oh hello dream job

but I’ll need to take some more classes to sweeten up my skills, I’m a seat-of-pants kinda sewer
I cannot wait to take classes and learn more!
